Project Sauna.
The cat is finally out of the bag - we are opening Forest Hill's first sauna and cold plunge!
Since opening our door in 2024, I have come to realise that bringing people together through connecting with yourself is the greatest privilege and something I hope to do for many more years. Forest Hill is an area so close to my heart, and after living in all four corners of London, I moved here in 2021 without any expectations. It quickly became the best place I have ever lived, and the sense of community in this area is so beautiful and so unlike any other part of London - I have made it my mission to keep contributing to it, and what better way than creating spaces for people to come home to themselves?
We are approaching this project with our heart on our sleeve and looking to you - our wonderful community - to help us get this project off of the ground. If you are a regular at Mind, you may know that affordability is at the heart of everything we do, and it has been our mission to make mindful movement accessible for everyone since day one. This means that a project of this scale is currently not within our reach, and we just need that push over the line by those that wish to see this community and space thrive.
If we can raise the remaining funds to make this dream a reality - you have my word that this space will continue to uphold everything that Mind holds dear: affordability, community and comfort. We hope to make our sauna an intimate and cosy outdoor space, a place to land before or after classes, pre/post work and over the weekends. We have a design team ready to go, a full provisional schedule and a whole lot of love to pour into this project.

Here's the Plan...
We would like to utilise our downstairs garden space by creating a serene wooden deck with an 8 person sauna, a tiled outdoor shower and 2 cold plunge baths. We will also be sprucing up the whole of our lower floor with a brand new changing room complete with changing cubicles and a cosy seating area for post-sauna chilling.

In the studio, we pride ourselves on offering those personal touches at no extra cost that make a class special: free yoga mats, complimentary toiletries, and sanitary products. The sauna will be no exception to this: free towels for use when you visit, as well as herbal teas and refreshments in our changing room. We also hope to keep our design as bright and serene as our main studio - think cosy energy - a covered outdoor deck with plants, soft lighting and atmospheric tunes playing.
